(WWJ) – Another grocery chain is stepping up to offer metro Detroiters contactless delivery this winter as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to surge.
Kroger announced it is offering a contactless, doorstep grocery delivery service to customers for $1 with any order of $35 or more.
Customers must create a Kroger account online in order to participate. Once an account has been created, customers will need to sign in, enter their ZIP code and choose delivery as their shopping method.
Then, all customers have to do is fill their online cart with the items they want. Kroger says no additional action is needed for customers to activate their delivery savings, as it will be automatically applied at checkout.
Rachel Hurst, corporate affairs manager for Kroger of Michigan, says the delivery service "offers shoppers the convenience of placing orders on Kroger.com or in the Kroger app and having fresh groceries delivered contact-free and at a time convenient for them."
"As Michiganders brace for winter's cold amidst the ongoing pandemic, we encourage shoppers to consider grocery delivery for the added relief it can bring to their shopping experience," she said, per a press release.
More information on the delivery service can be found on kroger.com.
Kroger is the second store this week to announce a new delivery service in Michigan as the pandemic surges. Meijer announced a similar venture on Tuesday.
