(WWJ) -- Monday marks the last day for millions of federal employees to provide proof that they've been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Employees will have the entire day to submit documentation.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said experience with other similar mandates in the private sector indicates there could be a last minute rush to meet the requirements and submit paperwork.
Despite the White House resisting vaccine mandates for months over concern of a backlash, the delta variant changed that.
With a surge in cases from the variant and the pace of vaccinations slowing down, Biden signed orders requiring all civilian federal workers and employees of federal contractors to provide proof of vaccination.

A similar requirement was instituted for members of the military and people working in nursing homes, hospitals and doctor's offices.
President Biden imposed the vaccine mandate through an executive order back in September.
