LIVONIA (WWJ) -- It was a close call for a Livonia firefighter, but there were no injuries reported in a house fire in Livonia, Wednesday morning.
Officials said the fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. at a home on Melrose, near Merriman and Joy roads.
There was a huge response from firefighters, and one fell through the floor into the basement prompting a mayday call
The firefighter was rescued, and is OK, officials said.
The home was vacant, and a neighborhood told WWJ Newsradio 950 that is recently had been sold.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
