LIVONIA (WWJ) -- A Livonia man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his brother with a shotgun, early Wednesday morning.
The Livonia Police Department said officers responded at around 2 a.m. to a call from a woman at a home in the 20000 block of Melvin St., in the area of 8 Mile Rd. and Middle Belt, who said her boyfriend had been shot by his brother.
Officers arrived to find the 44-year-old victim unresponsive. They attempted first aid, but the man was pronounced dead by EMS on the scene.
The brother, a 38-year-old man whose name has not yet been released, surrendered to police without incident.
He remains in the custody of Livonia Police as the case is being reviewed by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, which will determine charges.
It's unclear at this time what led to the shooting. No further details were released.
