(WWJ) A Livonia man who allegedly lead police on three chases in a single day has been arrested and charged.
Police said Cody Mahon, 30, was arrested in a Walmart parking lot near his Pontiac G6 in Van Buren Township. His Pontiac G6 was impounded.
On April 24, Mahon lead officers on a trio of chases, according to police. The first happened around 4:30 in the area of Merriman and Schoolcraft. The officer attempted to do a traffic stop on a red Pontiac G6 without a license plate—the suspect fled eastbound on I-96. The pursuit was terminated. Shortly afterward, officers learned the incident had been live streamed on Facebook and they developed Mahon as the suspect.
About an hour and a half later, police said they saw Mahon in his Pontiac G6 going westbound on I-96. Officers tried to stop him as he exited on Farmington and re-entered eastbound I-96. Once again, the pursuit was terminated.
At 11:30 p.m., Livonia police received several 911 calls of a reckless driver in the area of Farmington and Schoolcraft. Multiple callers reported a red Pontiac G6 was doing "donuts" in the intersection. Officers found Mahon and his car, police said.
Mahon bragged about his exploits on social media.
"I'm being pulled over and I'm not stopping! I got in four police chases today and just began an hour ago," Mahon said on Facebook.
Two days later, on Monday, investigators found Mahon and arrested him on Felony Warrants. He is charged with Fleeing and Eluding and several additional outstanding arrest warrants.
He is due back in court in early May and is being held on a $100,000/10%.
