LIVONIA (WWJ) — Police in Livonia are asking for help from the community tracking down a porch pirate who was caught in the act on camera.

The Livonia Police Department on Monday shared video on social media showing someone stealing a package from a resident’s porch in the area of Plymouth and Hubbard around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

Video captured by a Ring doorbell camera shows the suspect pull up to a house on a bicycle in a rainstorm twice before riding away.

After riding away twice, the suspect comes back to the porch a third time and grabs the pink package before fleeing the scene on the bike.

The suspect was seen wearing all dark clothes, including a rain jacket, dark pants, a black backpack and “distinctive red and white sneakers.”

Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows something about the theft to contact Detective Allen at 734-466-2327 and reference case number 24-32763. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
