
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WWJ) -- Longtime Detroit radio disc jockey John O’Leary was reportedly found stabbed to death Sunday at his home in Highland Park.
Police have said that a suspect is in custody.
O’Leary, who had worked at a number of radio stations dating back to the mid-1970s, was found dead with stab wounds in the backyard of his home on Candler Street, according to a report from the Detroit Free Press on Monday.
Highland Park police reportedly had a suspect in custody Monday. The suspect was awaiting charges, which are expected to be filed this week.
It is unknown if there was a possible motive in the apparent slaying.
The investigation is still ongoing.

O’Leary, 67, had reportedly been missing for about a week and was not returning phone calls and he had missed work-related meetings, according to the Freep.
O’Leary had been a staple on Detroit rock radio for the better part of four decades. He worked for stations such as WWWW-FM, WLLZ-FM and WABX-FM.
O’Leary was last on the air at WCSX 94.7, where he worked from 2002-2013.
Friends of O’Leary are planning a memorial and tribute concert for him at a local establishment. It is expected to be held sometime after the holiday season, though details have not been released.
