DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a pair of men connected to a shooting that stemmed from a crash at a Detroit gas station last weekend.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 4 in the area of Grand River Avenue and Oakman Boulevard, leaving a 54-year-old man injured.
Just minutes earlier the man was involved in a low-speed crash at a gas station on Warren Avenue near I-96, according to Detroit police.
Video released by Detroit police on Thursday shows the two suspects getting out of a black Chevy Camaro after it was hit by the victim's light blue Dodge Durango as it pulled away from a gas pump.
The suspects exchanged words with the victim in the SUV. The driver of the Camaro went back inside the car and pulled out a long gun, pointing it at the victim.
The victim then drove away from the gas station, only to be followed by the suspects, according to police. One of the suspects fired shots at the SUV in the area of Grand River and Oakman, grazing the victim. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Authorities released video and images of the suspect on Thursday, asking for help identifying the men. The Camaro will have damage on the passenger side from the crash, police said.
Officials are asking anyone who recognizes the suspects or knows something about the shooting or crash to call the Detroit Police Department's 2nd Precinct at 313-596-5240 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
