(WWJ) -- Another sure sign of things returning to normal -- the annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Bridge Walk is returning in 2021, now that all outdoor crowd size restrictions have been lifted.
On its website, the Mackinac Bridge Authority says plans are moving forward for the end-of-summer tradition to return, unless there are changes again at the state level.
The Bridge Walk, which began in 1958, was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic. An estimated 30,000 people took part in the 2019 Bridge Walk.
The 2021 event will be held on Sept. 6 and the Mackinac Bridge Authority says the bridge will be closed to public traffic from 6:30 a.m. to noon that day.
More information about the 2021 event can be found on the bridge authority's website.
