DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 33-year-old Macomb County man will spend at least three decades in prison for a mass shooting in Detroit.

Jony Saad Alatto of Macomb Twp., was sentenced Monday morning after pleading guilty to second degree murder and felony firearm charges in March, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. The court adopted the sentence agreement of 30 years to 60 years plus two years, prosecutors said.

Investigators said Alatto shot five people, killing three of them at a suspected drug house on Saratoga Stree,t in the area of 7 Mile Rd. and Gratiot Ave., on Detroit's east side.

It's alleged, according to Prosecutor Kym Worthy, that Alatto showed up the house with a gun on August 6, 2022, shot all five of the victims, and then robbed the place.

Prosecutors said, at around 10:40 a.m., police responded to a call about gunfire to find one victim with a gunshot wound outside the house, which police described as a "known narcotics vacant location."

Officers then heard several people inside screaming and forced entry into the home, finding four more people with gunshot wounds.

Morriss Campbell Jr., 41, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other four were taken to a hospital. Alphonso Henry, 55, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital later the day, authorities said, and John Coffie Jr., 76, died several days later.

It's not yet clear how much credit Alatto might get for time served. A hearing is set for May 19 to address his jail credits.
