(WWJ) A Macomb County inmate has pleaded no contest to the first degree murder of his cellmate.
The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said 47-year-old Michael Ketchum stabbed one victim multiple times at breakfast, back in October of 2022, at the Macomb County Correctional Facility in Lenox Township.
Officers then found Ketchum's cellmate, Ruben Martinez, under the bunk.
He had been hogtied, strangled and stabbed to death, according to investigators.
Ketchum was charged with First Degree Murder. Additional charges were dropped because prosecutors said the second victim did not fully cooperate with the initial investigation.
Ketchum's sentencing is set for late next month. He faces life without parole.
