IMLAY CITY (WWJ) A Macomb County teen has been sentenced to seven to 20 years in prison for a crash that killed a Plymouth man and injured six others, including the man’s wife, their baby and a pregnant woman in Imlay City.
Imlay City Police said Mark Goedge, 17 of Washington, has been sentenced on one count of Reckless Driving and one count of Reckless Driving Causing Serious Injury. The first count carries five to 15 years in prison; and the second count, two to five years.
Police said Goedge was driving in his pickup at a “high rate of speed” on the morning of January 29th on Cedar Street near Borland when he crashed into multiple vehicles, as an Imlay City police officer tried to stop him.
The crash killed Michael Neu, 36, on impact and critically injured his wife, Katie. Their baby was also in the car.
Three people in another vehicle, including a pregnant woman, were rushed to McLaren Hospital. Their conditions were not disclosed.
“All of the injured face a long road to recovery,” police said in their release.
