(WWJ) A man and two children are hospitalized after an all-terrain vehicle crash in Shelby Township.

Police said the man was driving the ATV Tuesday evening, near Cardinal Drive and 22 Mile Road, when he crashed into a house.

Officers called to the scene found the ATV overturned on top of two kids -- ages 9 and 12 years old.

The driver, who is the father of one of the children, was also injured, police said.

After being treated at the scene, the older child was flown to Detroit Receiving Hospital due to serious injuries. The younger child and the man were also taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Investigators say drunken driving and speeding may have played a part in the incident.

As the investigation continues, police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash, or who had any information, to call Traffic Services Bureau Sgt. Mark Benedettini at 586-731-2121.
