DETROIT (WWJ) – Nashwan Ali, a man wanted for allegedly shooting his sister to death on Detroit's east side on Tuesday afternoon, has been captured in Tennessee.
Detroit police said Ali shot his sister shortly before 1 p.m. in the 13100 block of Bloom Street on Tuesday, in the area of Mound and Davison.
The manhunt for Ali came to an end roughly 24 hours later when he was arrested by Tennessee State Police after a brief pursuit.
Authorities have not yet specified where in Tennessee Ali was arrested. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office was working on getting Ali extradited back to Detroit.
Police said Tuesday Ali had been put out of the house, then later returned and shot his sister.
Authorities have not released his sister's name or age.
No other details about Tuesday's alleged murder have been revealed.
