BEDFORD TWP. (WWJ) — Police are investigating after a man in Monroe County was stabbed by a coworker Tuesday night.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 at an unnamed business on Crabb Road in Bedford Township, just north of the Michigan-Ohio border, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responding to the scene found a 39-year-old employee who had a "deep laceration" to his forearm. Witnesses told police the man's coworker, also a 39-year-old man, had fled the scene before the deputies arrived.

After getting treatment at the scene, the victim was taken to Toledo Promedica Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators learned the stabbing stemmed from an argument between the two workers, though it was not clear what triggered the argument.

While the sheriff's office did not say whether the suspect has been arrested, the case has been turned over to the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Authorities are asking anyone who knows something about the alleged stabbing to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
