EASTPOINTE (WWJ) -- Eastpointe police are searching for suspects after a drive-by shooting sent two people to the hospital Thursday night.

According to investigators, at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 13, a vehicle pulled to a house in the 17000 block of Sprenger, in a neighborhood east of Gratiot near 8 Mile Road, and opened fire.

Two people inside the home were hit by bullets, police said: A woman who was wounded in the hand and a man who was shot in the arm.

Officers responded to a 911 call to find "numerous bullet holes" on the outside of the house, police said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment, and are expected to be OK.

The Eastpointe PD said preliminary indications are that "known suspects" targeted the home, that this was not a random act of violence and that there is no active threat to the public.

Police did not release a description or any information about the suspects, as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information about this crime can call Eastpointe Police at 586-777-6700.
