Threat of violence leads to man's arrest, forces Madison Heights computer store to close early

MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after a man allegedly made a threat directed towards a computer store in Madison Heights on Saturday afternoon.

Troy police officials say officers were called to a business in the 32000 block of Concord around 3:30 p.m. regarding a threat of violence.


Fox 2 in Detroit reported the business involved was Micro Center, a computer and electronics store near 14 Mile Road and I-75.

Authorities say the business decided to close for the day after the threat was made, though there was no threat to the public.

The 25-year-old man was taken into custody, but officials have not released many further details about the incident.

The nature of the alleged threat or what prompted it was not disclosed.

The suspect's name has not been released.
