DETROIT (WWJ) – The search is on for a man who Detroit police say broke into a home and set it on fire earlier this month.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 10 on Ohio Street near 7 Mile and Wyoming on the city's west side.
The suspect got out of a large SUV, walked to the back of a house carrying a bag and he forced his way in through a rear patio door.
Once inside, the man allegedly set fire to the house and fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
Police officials didn't say if anything was taken from the house. The extent of the damage to the home was not clear.
A possible motive in the case was not known.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or may know something about the incident to call the Detroit Police Department's Arson Unit at 313-596-2940.
