INKSTER (WWJ) -- Those who knew and loved Anthony Jones, remembered as a beloved family man and friend to the community, are still searching for answers four years after he was murdered in Inkster.
Crime Stoppers of Michigan is renewing its call for tips in the case of Jones — who was better known as "Nick" — and offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to his killer's arrest.
The 54-year-old mam was killed the afternoon of Saturday, August 31, 2019, on Lehigh St. near Princess St.
According to investigators, Jones was driving through the neighborhood in a red Saturn searching for houses that he might purchase.
When he made a stop, Jones was approached by an unknown gunman and was fatally shot.
The gunman was driving a red colored vehicle that fled westbound on Lehigh St. after the shooting.
While Detroit Police have investigated this case, there have been no arrests to date.

Speaking at a news conference two years ago, Jones' cousin Barbara Cooper was among those pleading with the public to come forward with anything they may know.
"I can always say, our family, we loved Nick and he loved his family, and we just miss Nick," Cooper said. "And anybody who has any information regarding that, please, please contact the Crime Stoppers to let them know."
Jones' family, along with a local pastor, are set to speak at another news conference this Thursday, on the four-year anniversary of Jones' death.
Anyone with any information about Jones' murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587), or submit a tip online at this link.
As always, all those who contact the Crime Stoppers tip line will stay 100% anonymous. They are not asked to provide their names, and are not required to speak to police or to testify in court.
All rewards are paid anonymously upon an arrest in a case.
