What started as a routine traffic stop for Wyandotte police turned into something else when officers said they discovered the man they had pulled over had a fake police badge, handcuffs ... and meth in his possession.

The man also allegedly had in his possession cocaine, a lock-pick set, a BB gun made to look like a real firearm, and thousands of dollars in stolen goods, including lottery tickets, diabetes test strips, and purses.

Wyandotte's deputy police chief told FOX 2 the man drew police attention for speeding out of the CVS parking lot at Ford and Fort Streets. "They were in such a hurry they exited the drive without yielding or stopping," said Archie Hamilton. "So therefore officer tried to conduct a traffic stop."

The driver was arrested after first fleeing police.

Police said an investigation is ongoing into whether the man committed any other crimes.
