DETROIT (WWJ) -- It’s not the kind of thing drivers would expect to see -- a person standing atop an SUV while on the freeway.
Still, it apparently happened recently in Detroit.
A video posted on the CrimeNewsInTheD Instagram account shows a man standing on the roof of a moving SUV, strapped with chains, as the vehicle drives down the Lodge Freeway.
He can be seen ducking underneath some overpasses as he cruises along the highway in the Mad Max-esque stunt. At one point, the man throws his hands into the air and looks rather overjoyed, and he appears to have some kind of bottle in his hand.
The video seems to have been captured at night or very early in the morning, and the man’s face cannot be seen.
WWJ's Charlie Langton reports that the man riding on the roof, as well as the driver of the SUV, could face criminal charges if caught by Detroit police.
