ROMULUS (WWJ) -- A man from Southfield has been charged in the attempted sexual assault of a woman at Detroit Metro Airport.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Monday that Raymond Anthony Jackson Jr., 32, was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred at the Big Blue Deck parking garage at DTW on May 14.
A statement from Prosector Kym Worthy’s office says that at approximately 8:40 a.m., Jackson allegedly approached the victim -- a 45-year-old woman from Ohio -- led her to a vacant area of the parking garage, and attempted to sexually assault her.
Jackson has been charged with one count of kidnapping, and one count of aggravated indecent exposure.
“The alleged actions of this defendant once again shows that we are not safe from sexual assault anywhere or any time,” said Prosecutor Worthy. “I am not trying to be an alarmist, but we must stay focused and not let incidents like this ever be relegated to the back pages again. Prevention, education, and swift action by law enforcement are key.”
The suspect is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, June 7 at 11 a.m., in 34th District Court in Romulus.
