ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- A Detroit man is behind bars in Macomb County, accused of stealing three high-end vehicles and fleeing police.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Caesar Cooper was involved in two high-speed chases over a three-day period in Roseville, reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour, while driving vehicles reported as being stolen.
Cooper was taken into custody by the Macomb Auto Theft Squad on Thursday, officials said, after he was found in in Westland in possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing from law enforcement officers on foot.
The following vehicles were recovered by law enforcement:
• Red 2023 BMW 760I valued at $100,000 – stolen from Manheim Auto Auction, New Jersey,
• Navy 2025 BMW 740I valued at $101,000 – stolen out of Manheim Auto Auction, Detroit,
• Black Ram RHO MSRP $96,000 – stolen out of JNAP Stellantis Plant, Detroit.
Cooper was arraigned in 39th District Court on March 6 in case on charges of third degree fleeing and eluding, receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, and habitual offender.
His bond was set at $250,000 with a GPS steel cuff tether if he's is released.
At the time of his arrest, Cooper was out on bond for criminal enterprise and other auto theft-related charges in Oakland County, and receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle in Wayne County, the MCSO said.
As of Tuesday, he remained in the Macomb County Jail.
