CANTON (WWJ) — A man has been charged after allegedly inappropriately filming women as they shopped at stores in Canton.
Willie Eugene Davis was arraigned Friday on charges of using a computer to commit a crime and eavesdropping – installing/using a device.
Canton police arrested the 42-year-old Davis on July 17, with the help of the Van Buren Police Department.
His arrest comes after what Canton police described as a “series of eavesdropping cases.”
Davis is accused of video recording underneath the dresses of unsuspecting women while they shopped at local stores. Authorities did not disclose when or at which stores the alleged incidents took place.
Bond was set at $75,000 (10%). His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 9. If convicted, Davis could spend up to four years in prison.
