(WWJ) A 34-year-old man arrested in a double slaying in Lenawee County's Adrian has been charged with murder and other crimes.
Christopher Ryan-Lee Carden is accused of killing 67-year-old Robert Braman and 82-year-old Samuel Compton, both found dead in a home in the 900 block of Frank St. of Adrian during a welfare check last Friday.
According to Adrian Police Chief Deputy Chief Laurence VanAlstine, III, Carden is also accused of stealing a car used to flee from the officers after he was identified as a person of interest in the case.
He crashed during the chase, fled on foot, and was taken into custody a short distance away.
Carden was arraigned in Lenawee's 2A District Tuesday on two counts of Open Murder, one count of Motor Vehicle- Unlawful Driving Away, and one count of Fleeing a Police Officer- Third Degree.
He is being held at the Lenawee County Jail on a $10 million bond, awaiting a preliminary examination scheduled for February 1.
A motive for the killings is unknown at this time.
