Redford Twp. man convicted after fatally shooting one person, injuring another in 2021 while on parole for previous murder and firearm charges: AG's Office
REDFORD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A Redford Township man has been found guilty of fatally shooting one man and injuring another in 2021.
43-year-old Maurice Crisp was found guilty of six felonies for the shooting of two men in 2021, according to a statement from the Michigan Attorney General's Office.
Crisp shot and killed his neighbor after the two men had a confrontation in the Warwick Village mobile home park in Redford Township.
Crisp also shot a witness in the back of the head. The witness survived.

Crisp was charged with six felonies. He was convicted of one count of First Degree Murder, which has a mandatory life sentence with no possibility of parole, one count of Assault with intent to Murder, which has a potential life sentence, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, which has a five year sentence and three counts of Felony Firearm, each carrying a two year sentence, according to the statement from the AG's Office.
43-year-old Redford Township resident Amy Morgan, Crisp's girlfriend at the time, pled guilty to Accessory After the Fact to a Felony in January, which is a felony with a five year sentence. Morgan helped Crisp hide following the shootings.
Morgan will be sentenced on March 6.
"These were senseless and brutal crimes that took one life and changed the course of another," Nessel said. "I am appreciative of the prosecutors in my office for taking these significant charges to trial, and I'm especially thankful for this jury, whose verdicts will bring justice and accountability."
Authorities said Crisp had previously pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder and Felony Firearm in 2003. He was sentenced to 15-30 years in jail, and was paroled in July of 2020. Crisp was on parole for the previous convictions at the time of the 2021 shooting.
Crisp will be sentenced on Feb. 16 in the 3rd District Court.
