
DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit man has been arraigned on multiple felony charges in connection with a burglary at a marijuana distribution facility and police chase in Warren.
Dijon Tyree, 29, was spotted driving on Dequindre Rd. near I-696, after police were already on the lookout for a suspicious Chevy pickup truck. During a police pursuit, officials said he ended up losing control and crashing the truck near Livernois and Davidson — with a large amount of weed inside the vehicle.
According to police, the burglary happened shortly before 2 a.m. Friday at the business, also on Dequindre, near 14 Mile Rd.
Tyree has been charged with the following: Delivery/manufacture 45 kilograms of marijuana, a 15 year felony; conspiracy to deliver/manufacture 45 kilograms of marijuana, a 15-year felony; breaking and entering a building with intent, a 10 year felony; conspiracy to commit breaking and entering of a building, a 10 year felony; receiving and concealing stolen property $20,000 or more, a 10-year felony; receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, a 5 year felony and fleeing and eluding 3rd degree, a 5 year felony.
He was arraigned in 37th District Court where bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety only, and his next court date was scheduled for April 8.
Police noted that Tyree is a parole absconder with an extensive criminal history, and previous convictions for armed robbery, firearms offenses, and motor vehicle theft.
At this time, it's still an active investigation.
