LENAWEE COUNTY (WWJ) – A man remains in critical condition a day after a motorcycle crash in Lenawee County.

Michigan State Police officials say troopers were called to the scene of a single-motorcycle crash near Main and Wells Streets in the Village of Britton shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver of the motorcycle, who has not been identified, was apparently crossing a set of railroad tracks on Main when he lost control of the bike, according to MSP.

Officials say the driver fell from the bike during the crash, suffering life-threatening injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon.

Authorities don’t know yet whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

MSP officials are still investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Tpr. Thomas Markey of the Monroe Post at 734-242-3500.

Troopers were assisted on scene by personnel from Ridgeway Township Fire Department and Lenawee Community Ambulance.
