ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) -- A 74-year-old man has died in the hospital several days after he was injured in a crash at a Rochester Hills intersection.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says Suk-Joon Ham of Rochester Hills, who was a backseat passenger in a Honda Accord involved in the wreck on Sept. 20, passed away on Saturday.

Sheriff's Office said a 30-year-old Rochester Hills woman was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Adams when she "proceeded through the red light" at Avon Rd.

As she went through the intersection, her SUV crashed into the Honda, driven by a 75-year-old Rochester Hills man who was turning left from Avon to southbound Adams.

The sheriff's office said the Honda, which was turning on a green arrow, "had the right of way."

Ham, the driver of the Honda and another male passenger were all taken by EMS to a local hospital.

The two surviving men have since been released from the hospital.

The driver of the Jeep, a 30-year-old Rochester Hills woman, was not injured.

On Wednesday, the OCSO said investigators believe the Jeep driver was distracted by her cell phone at the time the crash.

It's unclear at this time if the woman may face charges.

An investigation by the department's Crash Investigations Unit is ongoing.
