REDFORD (WWJ) Redford Township Police are searching for a suspect in a deadly shooting.
Police said the shooting happened in the early morning of Saturday, August 1, in the area of Glendale and Woodbine-- near I-96 and Beech Daly.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired and found a man inside a vehicle with "apparent gunshot wounds," according to authorities.
Police rendered emergency aid until Redford Township Fire arrived on scene. First responders rushed the victim to the hospital, where he passed away.
His name, age and city of residence were not released.
"The circumstances surrounding the case are under investigation," Redford Township Police said in a statement. "We believe this was targeted and the incident was not random."
