(WWJ) A car crash involving a horse trailer in Sumpter Township left a man and a horse dead and a woman in critical condition.
Sumpter Township Police said they were called to the area of Willis Road, near Judd for a vehicle vs. tree crash around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
The investigation revealed a truck with four people inside was driving on Willis pulling a trailer with a single horse inside when it ran off the road, striking a tree.
The man in the front passenger seat, 24, from Wyandotte was killed on impact. The woman driving the truck, 18, from Sumpter Township is in critical condition. Two passengers in the rear seat are hospitalized with serious injuries.
The horse died at the scene.
Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit and Van Buren Township Fire Department assisted with the investigation.
