SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) A pedestrian crash left an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair in critical condition.
Southfield Police said it happened on Saturday, August 22, around 7:30 p.m. in the area of 11 Mile and Marshall Street, near Greenfield Road.
According to their preliminary investigation, the elderly man was attempting to cross 11 Mile in his motorized wheelchair when a vehicle struck him. That vehicle was traveling westbound on 11 Mile.
Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
First responders rushed the victim to the hospital, where he's listed in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation.
