GROVELAND TWP. (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are reminding drivers to obey all traffic signals after they say a young man did not, and was killed in a crash in northern Oakland County.

According to officials with the MSP Second District, the crash happened at around 6 a.m. Wednesday, at Grange Hall and Tripp Rd in Groveland Twp.

An investigation found a 21-year-old Davisburg was driving northbound on Grange Hall and failed to stop at the stop sign at the Tripp Rd. intersection.

Another driver heading east on Tripp then crashed into the Davisburg man's driver's side door.

MSP troopers responded, and the 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was taken to local hospital for treatment of a possible broken ankle.

“The investigation into this crash is continuing by Metro North troopers,” said First Lt. Mike Shaw, in a statement. “We want to remind drivers to obey all traffic control devices, especially at intersections.”

The name of the man who died was not released.
