ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A 19-year-old man was charged with multiple counts of assault against employees at an Ann Arbor nightclub -- as well as causing injury to an officer -- after he allegedly decked a worker in the face and began biting others over the weekend.

The Ann Arbor Police Department said they arrested and charged Gino Hearn, 19, of Detroit over the incident at the Necto Nightclub located at 516 E. Liberty Street on August 26.

Police said they were called out to the business just before midnight on Saturday for an assault complaint. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an employee had allegedly been punched in the face by Hearn after he was denied entry into the club.

The suspect went on to injure two other employees by biting them, police added, including a 20-year-old worker who sought medical treatment at the University of Michigan hospital after Hearn allegedly grabbed and bit the victim in the testicles.

According to police, Hearn caused further injury upon his arrest.

"While placing the suspect in handcuffs, an officer suffered minor injuries to two fingers," the department added.

On Monday, August 28, Hearn was charged and arraigned at 14A District Court on one count of resist/assault of a police officer causing injury, two counts of resist/assault to a police officer, one count of aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault.

Hearn was given a $25,000 cash bond, police added.
