EASTPOINTE (WWJ) -- Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Eastpointe that left one man injured.
Officers responded to a call on the 18000 block of Holland Avenue near 9 Mile and Kelly roads around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, with reports of a man who had been shot.
The 36-year-old Eastpointe resident told officials that he had been driving home from Detroit when a black Chrysler 300C began following him.
The suspect vehicle -- which contained approximately five people -- then pulled alongside the victim while at the 9 Mile and Kelly intersection, and fired multiple rounds into his vehicle.
He was struck by one bullet and suffered a non-fatal injury. The man was then able to drive home and call police.
After treating the man at the scene, authorities took him to a local hospital for additional treatment, where he is expected to recover.
