COMMERCE TWP. (WWJ) -- A young Oakland County man is behind bars after authorities say he stabbed his 76-year-old father to death in their Commerce Township home.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said a call came in and deputies responded to the house the two men shared, in the 3400 block of Sutton Road, at around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The deputies were met by a 22-year-old man who showed them where to find his father's body inside the home.
Officials said the older man had been stabbed multiple times.
Paramedics with the Commerce Township Fire Department paramedics tried, but failed to revive the father, and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The son was arrested at the scene and taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, the sheriff's department said.
While OCSO investigators believe the son fatally stabbed his father, officials said a motive for the killing is not known at this time.
The names of the suspect and the victim have not been released, as the investigation continues.
