ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) -- A 22-year-old Troy man has been charged with felonious assault after allegedly stabbing his co-worker during an argument about their interest in the same woman.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene of a reported stabbing at the Hungry Howie's on Rochester Rd around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 8.

The victim -- a 28-year-old Rochester Hills man -- had been stabbed multiple times with a knife that had a five-inch blade.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where emergency surgery was required to repair damage to one of his lungs and his liver. As of Friday, the man was listed in stable condition.

David Isiah Roberts, the alleged attacker, was charged with felonious assault in connection with the stabbing. He has been released from Oakland County Jail after paying 10 percent of his $10,000 bond.

According to sheriff's deputies, the two got into a verbal altercation over a woman they both liked, which then escalated to violence.

Roberts is scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 20 for a probably cause conference.
