DETROIT (WWJ) – A fugitive wanted for killing his own mother in Inkster has been caught after a week on the run.

Detroit police arrested 25-year-old Joshua Hill over the weekend, according to Michigan State Police. Hill had a gun on him at the time of his arrest, officials said.

It was not immediately clear where or when Hill was arrested.

Authorities have not released many details about the murder, but announced last week Hill was suspected of killing his 64-year-old mother in Inkster. A possible motive in the case has not been released.

MSP officials shared photos of Hill last week and said he may have been driving either a 2005 or 2020 Ford Escape. He was said to be armed and dangerous.

During the manhunt, both vehicles were recovered, but Hill was not found. He was believed to be in the Metro Detroit area on foot.

MSP officials said last week a warrant for first-degree murder and felony firearm had been signed by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
