MANCHESTER TWP. (WWJ) — A single-car crash that left a man dead Wednesday morning is under investigation in Washtenaw County.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Sharon Hollow and Wolff Roads in Manchester Township, about 30 miles southwest of Ann Arbor, according to Michigan State Police.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 50-year-old man driving a 2003 Jeep Wrangler lost control and drove off the road and rolled over, MSP officials said.
The man, who authorities believe was not wearing his seatbelt, was thrown from the Jeep. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear what caused the man to lose control of the Jeep, but MSP officials said it does not appear alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The victim's name and hometown were not released.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or knows something about it to call the MSP Brighton Post at 810-227-1051.
