Macomb County deputies searching for tips after man with gunshot wound found lying on Gratiot Avenue

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - A gunshot victim is recovering after Macomb County deputies say he was shot in the thigh and left on Gratiot Avenue on Tuesday night.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said deputies were contacted just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9th, on reports of an injured man on the left travel lane on northbound Gratiot Avenue near North Walnut Street in Mount Clemens.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a 32-year-old Mount Clemens man lying on the road with a gunshot wound to his upper left thigh/groin area.

The man was taken to a local hospital for further medical care. He is listed in stable condition.

Little details were released about the incident as deputies continue to investigate the incident.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unknown at this time, but information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
