Detroit police searching for suspect who smashed car windows in nursing home parking lot

DETROIT (WWJ) — The search is on for a man who was caught on camera smashing out the windows of two cars in a Detroit nursing home parking lot.

Detroit police officials say it happened around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18 outside The Orchards - Michigan, located on Conner near Warren.

The suspect allegedly smashed out the back windows of two cars before fleeing the scene. Authorities have not said whether anything was stolen from the cars or if there was another motive in the case.

Detroit police on Friday released photos showing the suspect near the nursing home, which is a Project Green Light partner.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows something about the incident is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s 5th Precinct at 313-596-5540, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up, or visit DetroitRewards.tv. A $500 reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
