The man who broke into Eminem’s home in April 2020 who stated he had intentions to kill, has been placed on five years probation after serving 524 days in the county jail.

The intruder, Matthew David Hughes, was taken into custody nearly 18 months ago after allegedly used a paving stone to smash a kitchen window and climb into the rapper’s home in a gated Clinton Twp. neighborhood.

Hughes allegedly told the rapper “he was there to kill him,” according to court testimony.

At the time, Hughes was charged with first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of a building.

According to Macomb Daily, “Hughes previously pleaded to the second-degree home invasion in exchange for dismissal of charges of first-degree home invasion, malicious destruction of property between $1,000 and $20,000 and assault of a jail employee.”

Hughes’ noted assault of a jail employee is reported to have occurred as he was serving time for breaking into Eminem’s estate.

Eminem was reported absent from the hearing although it was stated that the rapper agrees with the outcome.
