(WWJ) A Rochester Hills man found himself in trouble with the law for a fifth time when he was pulled over by police last weekend in Troy.
At around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, officers stopped the 43-year-old driver of a black 2018 BMW M550XI for a traffic violation along westbound South Blvd., west of Crooks Rd.
After the man provided his State of Michigan Identification Card, police determined that his driver's license had been revoked by the Michigan Secretary of State — and that he had four prior convictions for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol.
When asked, police said the driver admitted to drinking one alcoholic drink a couple hours prior. He was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations but performed poorly, police said, and then refused to submit to a take a breath test.
The man was arrested taken to Troy Police Lock-up Facility where he refused to submit to a blood test.
Police got a search warrant, however, and the driver's blood was then drawn by medical personnel.
The man was charged with two counts: Driving While License Suspended and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Narcotics. His name is being withheld with results of the blood test still pending.
