(WWJ) -- There’s some good news for travelers in metro Detroit as they plan vacations and staycations this Labor Day Weekend.
MDOT will temporarily pause over half of the construction projects across the state to alleviate traffic as Michiganders head to their various destinations.
Starting on Friday at 3 p.m., 83 out of the 147 statewide closures and construction projects will come to a halt, and remain that way until 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
However, that leaves 64 projects that will be ongoing in Michigan, many of which are in metro Detroit:
Macomb County
I-75
- 2 lanes open in each direction between 8 Mile and 13 Mile roads.
I-696
- 1 lane open on eastbound exit ramp to M-3 (Gratiot)
M-59 (Hall Road)
- 2 lanes open in each direction between Romeo Plank Road and North Avenue
11 Mile Road
- 2 lanes open at M-3 (Gratiot Ave)
M-3 (Gratiot)
- 2 lanes open in each direction between 11 Mile and 13 Mile roads
Oakland County
I-75
- 2 lanes open in each direction between 8 Mile and 13 Mile
Wayne County
I-75
- 1 lane closed in each direction on M-8 (Davison Fwy) under I-75
