(WWJ) – Metro Detroit attorney Geoffrey Fieger is recovering after suffering a stroke, his wife announced Wednesday.
Fieger, one of the most prominent attorneys in the state of Michigan, suffered a stroke on March 1. His wife, Keenie Fieger, said in a statement he underwent an elective procedure for a minor heart arrhythmia.
After the procedure, doctors determined Fieger had suffered a stroke, she said, noting “the recovery time from an event such as this varies from patient to patient, therefore it’s difficult to predict how long Geoffrey’s recovery will take and when he will be back in the office.”
James Harrington, Vice President and Managing Partner at Fieger Law, said he spoke to Fieger this week.
“He is awake, resting comfortably, and actively engaging in rehabilitation. As we all know, Geoffrey is a true fighter, and is working hard in his recovery,” Harrington said. “While I encouraged him to take care of himself, I also reassured him that the firm is moving full steam ahead.”
Harrington says the firm will “continue our mission on behalf of our clients, fellow attorneys and our legal colleagues to deliver justice for all of our clients.”
