(WWJ) – A day after announcing a driver arrested for possession of meth in Northern Michigan helped police catch the drug dealer, Michigan State Police say that same person helped them make an even bigger bust.

On Monday an unidentified driver was pulled over on US-31 in Manistee and found to be in possession of meth. Cooperating with MSP troopers, the driver gave them information about his drug dealer that led to a 38-year-old man’s arrest.

The driver said the dealer communicates via Facebook Messenger, so they set up a time to make a deal and authorities arrested the man with 3.5 grams of meth at Red Szymarek Park.

The dealer was being held in the Manistee County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of delivery of methamphetamine and conspiracy to commit a felony.

On Wednesday MSP officials announced the same driver who was pulled over on Monday led them to another drug dealer in Muskegon.

A 25-year-old Muskegon man and a 20-year-old Grand Rapids woman were arrested after the driver helped police set up another deal in Pleasanton Township, northeast of Manistee.

While troopers were searching the woman at the Benzie County Jail they found about 30 grams of meth, four grams of cocaine and two grams of fentanyl, according to MSP.

Authorities have not released any of the names of the dealers who were arrested. A report is being turned over to the prosecutor’s office for charges they will face later.

The driver who cooperated after the original traffic arrest, meanwhile, has been released.

Two other people were also arrested during the initial traffic stop on related drug charges and outstanding warrants, MSP officials said Wednesday. Their identities were not released and it was not clear what charges they are facing, if any.
