(WWJ) Authorities are searching for a convicted sex offender who went on the run after failing to turn himself in.
According to Michigan State Police, 22-year-old James Dominic Gross, from the Lincoln, Michigan area pleaded guilty in February to Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC) Third Degree — forcible penetration with a minor child victim.
In early March, Gross was sentenced to 66 months in prison for the CSC charge, and was ordered by the court to turn himself in by the end of the day.
Gross failed to do so, police said, and has evaded arrest since that time.
MSP said he is also wanted on new felony charges.
As the hunt continues, police released a photo of Gross in hope that someone in the public has seen him.
MSP warned that anyone who harbors or assists Gross in any way may be charged for aiding/harboring a known fugitive.
