WYANDOTTE (WWJ) — A suspect is in custody after a Downriver drug bust that took about $50,000 worth of drugs off the streets.
The bust happened Wednesday morning as the Michigan State Police’s Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET) carried out a pair of search warrants in Wyandotte and Southgate.
Detectives seized about 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, along with oxycodone pills, two handguns and cash. The drugs had a street value of about $50,000, according to MSP.
MSP officials did not say where exactly the search warrants took place or what led investigators to those locations.
MNET was assisted by MSP’s 2nd District Headquarters, Wyandotte Police Department, Border Patrol, and Downriver SWAT.
The suspect’s name has not been released and it was not clear what charges they are facing.
