Concern grows over missing 77-year-old Northern Michigan woman with dementia last seen driving away from home

MONTMORENCY COUNTY (WWJ) - Authorities in Northern Michigan are turning to the public for help after a 77-year-old woman with dementia disappeared two days ago — and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

The Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office told WWJ that Karen Jean Adams, 77, is still missing after she was last seen leaving a home on Schmallers Road in Loud Township at 1:41 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3.

Loud Township is about 41 miles southwest of Alpena and 40 miles southeast of Gaylord.

According to the sheriff's office, Adams is diagnosed with dementia. She was last seen in a silver-colored 2018 Chevy Cruze.

Police are unsure where Adams could have gone, but did say she could be traveling to Port Huron where she has a home and other family members.
