(WWJ) – A West Michigan family reported missing has been located in Wisconsin and determined to be safe.

Officials with the Fremont Police Department say the Cirigliano family was found in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, around 11 a.m. Sunday. Authorities made contact with all members of the family and they were determined to be safe.

Michigan State Police first started asking for tips finding the Fremont family on Thursday, who had left home abruptly last Sunday.

Authorities had said the father, 51-year-old Tony Cirigliano, was exhibiting paranoid behavior early Sunday morning when police went to their home after receiving a call in which he was reportedly talking about the 2001 Sept. 11 attacks.

On Friday MSP officials said the family had been spotted in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula earlier in the week. A gas station attendant said one of the teenagers was acting strangely.

On Sunday Fremont police officials said while the family was determined to be safe, “they are still of the opinion that people are after them.”

Police officials said “the elements of the investigation do not meet the criteria for protective custody.”

When the Cirigliano family took off last Sunday, they left behind a family member who is in need of full-time care. Officials said Sunday that person is now being cared for by other family members.

Fremont police officials said the investigation will be closed and we “wish to thank all of those individuals who assisted in the investigation by calling in tips and sharing the information to help locate this family.”
